CrossFit Christmas Crafting

  Blog, Community Blog   8

It’s time for a little community spirit… at the 1:45pm class we were trying to think of some things we could do to feel a little more connected as a community and get into the holiday season. We decided that on Saturday, December 8th after the kids classes at the gym we are going to have a CrossFit Christmas Crafting session (11-2) to make ornaments and fun decorations either for the gym or to take home (and buttons says Mel).

We will lay down some plastic floor protection, set up some tables, play Christmas music, brew some hot apple cider and just hang out. Families of CrossFitters and especially kids are welcome. If your kids will be in CrossFit Kids that morning and plan on staying make sure they have some non-sweaty clothes to change into an a solid snack so we don’t have cranky crafters.

If you think you might like to come in for this please post to comments so we have an idea of how many people are coming. We will supply the ornament hanging pieces and the glue. We ask that you bring your own scissors and some communal crafting items to share with the group. Please bring something other than sparkles as we will have some for you (a reasonably limited supply) and would rather not spend the next 4 years finding sparkles on everything in the gym. Also bringing a picture of what you expect your craft to look like might be helpful to meet your expectations!

Ideas of what you can bring:

paper for snowflakes
felt paper
pipe cleaners
stickers
popsicle sticks
markers
puffy paints
things from the forest
different shapes of balls
stamps and ink pads

Be creative and check out the internet for ideas… like any good potluck, the more creative you are the better the diversity for the group.

Good plan right?
